About me
I work in the fragrance industry. Since moving to Nishiawakura, I've been involved in extracting fragrance components from plants. I'm planning to launch a fragrance brand called "CACUCA," which utilizes natural materials, around autumn, and I'm currently developing fragrance products using the scents I've extracted.
What I like about Nishiawakura
I appreciate how quickly information is shared. Even though we live in an age of privacy, as a newcomer, I feel like I'm being looked after, which is a great help (laughs). Also, when I want to find something or try something, it's incredibly quick to find the person in charge, which is very helpful. Being able to use the forest for events like this is something unique to this village, and I'm very grateful for that.
Thoughts on the "Shin-shin San-san"
As I collect plants that can be used for fragrances, I naturally find myself planning my activities in accordance with the plants' cycles, and I think this is precisely the concept behind Morimori Sansan. It's difficult to grasp something as vague and distant as nature as something personal, but I believe that having many people gather in one forest with the common purpose of Morimori Sansan might be a catalyst for something. I hope to use the operation of Morimori Sansan as one way of expressing myself and giving shape to my relationship with nature.
Message to participants
Having been born and raised in an urban area, I tended to perceive nature as something vast and distant. However, since moving to Nishiawakura, I've found joy in noticing the subtle changes in my surroundings, and I feel like nature has become closer to me. Through Mori Mori Sansan, I hope that both those who have had a deep connection with nature and forests, and those who haven't, will find an opportunity to develop new perspectives.
